I've played a large number of the civil war games over the years and this is the only one that did the war justice and is also available for purchase. Its a strategic and not a tactical game. Its well made and well thought out plus the add ons are nice too.The only civil war game that I've seen that was better than this was SSI's Turning Point (the Battle of Gettysburg). It was excellent so of course it is out of print. It would be nice if they would update and reissue it.Until then, this is the only decent civil war game on the market.

Product Description:
The Civil War was the bloodiest conflict in American history? brother against brother, North against South. This is an excellent game for the game player who prefers strategic decisions to tactical, and for whom the sense of historical accuracy is important. Although the game is historically detailed, there are many more than enough ways to alter conditions to make multiple replays interesting, to test "what if?" theories, and to alter pre-existing conditions. Released in 1996.Sysyem Requirements:Windows 95/98, IBM PC 486/33 MHz, 8 MB RAM, SVGA video card, Sound Blaster-compatible sound card, and 23 MB hard-disk space
