(More customer reviews)I was dubious about this game because of the disastrous launch. However, I downloaded the free trial and purchased it before my trial even ran out. I was fortunate enough to beta test the Notum Wars expansion. It adds entirely new elements to the game which are of special interest to PVPers and guild members. Although this product is labelled an expansion, I urge you to buy this version if you are new to the game, since it contains the regular game as well. If you buy the special edition instead, you'll more than likely find yourself buying this later.
Within a month of going to AO, I found myself dropping EQ, AC, and several other games. I was hooked! It's solo friendly and no two characters are remotely alike. Over the last few months I have gotten 7 people I know to download the trial. Of the 7 people, ALL 7 decided to buy it. If you're still unsure, download the Anarchy Online trial, but you'll probably find yourself wanting Notum Wars eventually. The trial does not allow you to use the expanded features.
